I've dealt with people, even people I considered to be my friend, who want to avoid problems and instead try to make it about how they are the victim. It pisses me off so much to see how easily some people can get away with this. I wish more people will take responsibility, but of course there will always be someone who wants to cheat their way through life without consequence, and the only thing I can do is remind them of their guilt.
